Through S.M.A.R.T. Coaching©, Alycia teaches children mindfulness practices to regulate emotions and make good choices by Staying Mindful and Regulating Together©.
Have you ever watched your child become upset, and no matter what you said, it didn’t seem to help? Does your child have difficulty regulating their feelings?
Learning and generalizing self-regulation skills can be difficult for many children.
Through modalities such as ACT/AIM, Mindfulness, CBT, and Self-Regulation, I help children navigate the ups and downs of life without getting down on themselves or giving up. I work with children facing an array of struggles and conditions, including but not limited to:
ADD/ADHD
Anger
Anxiety
ASD
Bullying
Depression
Oppositional Defiance
Peer Pressure
Trauma
I work with children and youth to help develop and generalize an array of skill deficits including, but not limited to:
Collaboration, Cooperation, & Taking Turns
Emotion Regulation, Impulsivity, & Frustration Tolerance
Flexibility, Following Directions, & Listening
Life skills, Problem Solving, & Planning
Recognizing Non-Verbal Cues & Expressive Language
Locus of Control, Theory of Mind, & Working Memory
Self-Advocacy, Self-Monitoring and Self-Regulation
By combining therapeutic art, play therapy, and fun activities with yoga and brain gym exercises, children begin to feel grounded, calm and confident. Together, children learn to appropriately express their feelings, build confidence, and develop self-monitoring and self-regulation skills.
When we teach our children how to take charge of their feelings and make good decisions, the importance of respecting themselves and others, and how to set and reach goals, we are setting them up for success for the rest of their lives.
Individual therapy sessions can be booked online through the secure Jane App for virtual appointments. In-person sessions are not available through online booking. If you are inquiring about in-person availability, please contact me directly by email.
First-time clients are welcome to book a 15-minute Discovery Call directly online or via email.
A brief 15-minute consultation is available for new clients. This is a chance to connect, ask questions, and explore whether we are a good fit to work together. This is not a therapy session.
These calls are offered virtually or by phone.
