Having been in the field for 13+ years, Samantha has extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FASD).
Samantha graduated from Carleton University in 2016 having completed an Honours degree in Psychology (minor in Food Science & Nutrition). She then went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Fredericton. Samantha is currently completing her master's degree in Behaviour Analysis Practice from Florida Tech university and plans to sit for her exam in 2024. She is supervised by Nicole Jacobs (BCBA) and also works collaboratively with clinical psychologists and psychotherapists in the Ottawa area.
Samantha specializes in completing comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessments, Assessments of Functional Living Skills, and writing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). She takes particular interest in working with high-risk individuals and those with severe problem behaviour, such as, but not limited to, physical aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviour, defiance, and elopement.
I work with my clients providing support to those diagnosed with developmental, intellectual, and learning disabilities, in conjunction with dual diagnoses including, ASD, OCD, ADHD, and emotional and neurological life challenges.
Depending on the situation and the need, I may conduct a Functional Behaviour Assessment and Functional Analyses (supervised by a BCBA), providing a written assessment of the behaviour and next steps for treatment. I help families and facilities by designing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans for children, youth, and adults demonstrating difficult and sometimes dangerous behaviours, providing safety plans and behavioural contracts to support my client's growth and development.
Should you resonate with me and my services, please book an initial exploratory session to determine together the best service(s) to match your current circumstances. I look forward to our journey together!
Each client may request a free initial consultation. This is not a therapy session, but rather a chance to meet and get a feel for how we can connect and work together.
During this consultation, we may discuss the fees and policies as we decide if we are a good fit to work together.
Why do we call our price list an investment instead of a cost? By definition, cost is just an expenditure of money, time, or resources while an investment is an expenditure that is sent out because it has the possibility of a return. We say investment instead of cost because you are not simply expending resources, you are investing in yourself, your health and well-being.
