My journey towards the mental health field started in 1997 when I began my study of mental health determined to understand how we think and why we feel, perceive, and experience life as we do. I resonate deeply with Nouwen's "The Wounded Healer" as my desire to understand my own experiences of pain and suffering propelled me to want to use that understanding to help others. Though I am fully aware that every individual's experience is unique, I am acutely aware that our patterns and responses are often quite similar. My passion is to empower others to move from a state of surviving to a state of thriving. I do this by facilitating the learning and growth born from understanding and adjusting our perceptions and limiting beliefs.
My desire to grow and help others led me to pursue dual undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Social Work. I have worn many hats working in the field of metal health including counsellor, therapist, social worker, case worker, consultant, course author, coach, and instructor. In order to further my ability to help others, I recently completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Registered Acceptance and Commitment Therapist, Certified EFT/TFT Practitioner, and Certified Life Coach for adults and children, working with additional modalities such as Mindfulness Meditation, Therapeutic Art, and Shamanic Art Healing.
I express my passion for growth and development through many avenues. I develop wellness fliers for my clients and write a blog when inspiration provides. I also participate in several podcasts and co-facilitate courses on personal growth and well-being when possible.
Over the years, I have learned the benefits of pouring gratitude over my most challenging experiences, embracing the growth, however painful, that comes from them. As we journey together, it is my goal to provide a safe, compassionate and accepting therapeutic space for you to work through life's stresses toward acceptance and growth.

I believe in weaving a fully holistic healing modality when working with my clients to help them heal from difficult experiences and negative limiting beliefs, to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Often, we do not stop to ask ourselves what we need at this moment, nor do we take the time to evaluate what is causing us pain. or blocking us from reaching our goals. Through developing a connection with one's True Self, we begin to understand that the conditioned beliefs and coping skills we have come to rely on are often the very things causing us pain and suffering. What is your True Self? The True Self is our Wise Mind, Heart of Hearts, Inner Being, consciousness, atman or Buddha-nature.
When we can let go of conditioned thinking and come to realize we are not our thoughts and feelings but the one who observes them, we begin to see Truth manifest in our experience.
It is in this place that we heal, that we grow, that we expand.

I work with my clients to help them awaken to their True Selves through various counselling and coaching mediums. My sessions are Person-Centred and utilize Mindfulness, Process Healing, Gestalt, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)/ Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Relational Frame Theory (RFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For my Spiritual Counselling and Intuitive Life Coaching clients, I work with a range of spiritual and religious practices to meet the needs and beliefs of my clients.
All of my practices stem from my eclectic spiritual background and experience. I believe in the connectedness of all beings and the oneness of humanity. This connectedness has a direct impact on all that we feel and experience. My goal is to help my clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and actions guide their experiences. I have had the honour of helping my clients handle hard emotions, cleanse negative energy, and move beyond negative experiences, including traumatic events, centring their energy to help find clarity and strength to move forward.
“For so long, we have lived as the caterpillar, holding within ourselves tremendous unrealized potential. Staying in this form, we get caught up in a small part of who we are and who we can be. It is not until we allow this part of us, this little ego-self to die, that we begin to transform. As we wrap ourselves in the cocoon of Truth, made from surrender and love, that we melt away so our True self can be reborn. Rebuilding from the pupa, we work on ourselves and continue to develop and expand. Our cocoon cracks bit by bit with each stage of growth until finally, we break free. Only then, seeing our True Selves in our True reflection, do we learn how to stand tall. As we stretch out to our full potential, we find we have wings. We are not the little caterpillars we once were. We are powerful butterflies. No longer held down, the sky is our limit. Finally, knowing our Truth, we spread our wings wide and soar.”

I started working in the field of mental health in 2000. Since then, I have had the privilege to help my clients in many roles, including senior therapist in ABA, social worker, therapist/counsellor, life coach, mindfulness practitioner, instructor/facilitator, consultant and more.
As noted, I have a very eclectic background and foundation from which I practice. As a Registered ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Counsellor, Certified Therapeutic Art, Shamanic Art, and Mindfulness Coach, EFT/TFT Practitioner and Reiki Master, I draw on various approaches to support the unique needs of my clients.
I have also had the privilege to author a university course on Restorative Justice as a result of my work with mental health in the criminal justice sector.
Through my work in the mental health field, I have been honoured to receive both the Manchester and Cambridge Who's Who among Social Workers and Executives and Professionals in Mental Health "Honours Edition".

Each client may request a free initial consultation. This is not a therapy session, but rather a chance to meet and get a feel for how we can connect and work together.
During this consultation, we may discuss the fees and policies as we decide if we are a good fit to work together.
Why do we call our price list an investment instead of a cost? By definition, cost is just an expenditure of money, time, or resources while an investment is an expenditure that is sent out because it has the possibility of a return. We say investment instead of cost because you are not simply expending resources, you are investing in yourself, your health and wellbeing.
