“When you are in rhythm with your nature, nothing destructive can touch you... To be spiritual is to be in rhythm.”
-John O'Donohue

Every day, your body, mind, emotions, and nervous system are changing.
Some days you wake feeling energized and focused.
Other days your emotions feel closer to the surface.
Sometimes creativity flows effortlessly, while on other days
rest feels far more important than productivity.
These experiences are rarely random.
Human beings live within countless natural rhythms that influence how we
think, feel, respond, recover, and grow.
Cycles of Awareness was created to help you become more aware of those rhythms,
not to predict your life, but to better understand yourself.
By bringing together multiple layers of awareness in one place,
the app encourages curiosity, reflection, and self-understanding over time.
As a psychotherapist, one of the questions I hear most often is: "Why do I feel so different today?"
Many of us assume we should feel the same every day. When we don't, we often criticize ourselves.
We tell ourselves we're lazy, too emotional, not motivated enough, too sensitive. But what if nothing was wrong? What if your experience reflected natural fluctuations occurring within your body and nervous system?
Awareness changes everything. When we begin noticing our patterns rather than judging them, we gain the ability to respond with greater compassion, wisdom, and intention.
One day tells very little. One month begins to reveal trends. Several months can transform the way you understand yourself.
Many people discover:
Self-awareness grows gradually. The more consistently you observe, the more clearly your patterns begin to emerge.

Rather than tracking a single aspect of your well-being, Cycles of Awareness brings together several layers of information that may influence your daily experience.
Some of these layers are calculated automatically, while others are built through your own observations and reflections. Together, they offer a broader picture of how your internal experience changes over time.

Everything is designed with one purpose: To help you become more aware of yourself.

One of the foundations of the app is the traditional biorhythm model, which includes four recurring cycles:
This rhythm relates to physical vitality, stamina, recovery, and energy. Many people use it as a reflective tool to consider when they feel naturally energized or when additional rest and self-care may be beneficial.
This rhythm reflects the ebb and flow of emotional sensitivity and expression. It invites curiosity about emotional resilience, connection, and periods of greater emotional intensity.
This rhythm relates to concentration, analytical thinking, learning, memory, and problem-solving. It can encourage reflection on how your cognitive energy may shift over time.
This rhythm explores intuition, insight, creativity, imagination, and reflective awareness. Many people find it meaningful for noticing periods of inspiration or deeper self-reflection.
Traditional biorhythm theory has been discussed for decades and remains a subject of debate. Within Cycles of Awareness, these rhythms are not presented as predictors of your experience, but as one layer of reflection that can be explored alongside your own observations.

While circadian rhythms govern our approximately 24-hour sleep–wake cycle, ultradian rhythms occur many times throughout the day.
Research suggests that our brains naturally move through cycles of focused attention followed by periods of recovery, typically lasting between 90 and 120 minutes.
If you choose to track your ultradian rhythms, Cycles of Awareness can help you notice when you tend to feel most focused, when your energy begins to decline, and when restorative breaks may support your well-being.
Rather than encouraging constant productivity, ultradian awareness reminds us that periods of recovery are a normal and essential part of healthy functioning.

Our nervous system is continually responding to the world around us.
Inspired by polyvagal theory, Cycles of Awareness allows you to track your nervous system state over time, helping you recognize patterns in regulation, activation, and recovery.
By observing these patterns alongside your other rhythms, you may begin to notice what supports a greater sense of safety, resilience, and balance in your daily life.

In addition to your personal rhythms, Cycles of Awareness also includes the current collective energy transits.
These daily influences provide a broader context for reflection, offering insights into themes that may be affecting many people at once. Depending on your perspective, you may view these as symbolic, archetypal, or spiritually meaningful.
Rather than determining how you should feel, they simply offer another lens through which to consider your current experience. Each day, your dashboard weaves together your personal rhythms, any tracked nervous system or ultradian data, and the current collective energy to generate supportive reflections and practical suggestions for the day ahead.
The real power of Cycles of Awareness isn't found in any single day.
It's found in the patterns that emerge over time.
As you continue checking in, you may begin to notice recurring relationships between your rhythms, your nervous system, your daily experiences, and the larger themes unfolding in your life.
The goal isn't to tell you who you are.
It's to help you become more aware of the patterns that have been there all along.
Cycles of Awareness combines several areas of established research — including ultradian rhythms and nervous system regulation — with reflective models such as traditional biorhythm cycles and Human Design Transit energies.
It is not intended to diagnose, predict, or replace professional medical or psychological care. Instead, it serves as a framework for observation. Some aspects of the app are strongly supported by scientific research, while others are included as reflective tools that individuals may find personally meaningful.
The goal is not to tell you who you are. The goal is to help you become more curious about yourself.
