Hello, it's lovely to be connected with you, even through this webpage. I do this work because it truly feels like a vessel of self expression to hold space for exploration, connection, and transformation with diverse peoples. This life can be a winding road, and my journey to this work has also been so. I shifted from pursuing dance performance, to dance as a vessel of expression and processing, to body work and fitness, to life coaching, to psychotherapy. My path has been deeply guided by personal struggle that has pushed me to challenge long-held beliefs, and create for myself a nuanced and embodied awareness of what wellness feels like. I know the journey will continue to evolve.
I have observed that wellness looks just as unique as each individual, and therefore the definition of wellness must hold enough flexibility and spaciousness to honour the unique needs, experiences, gifts, and desires of each person. Much of the work in session looks like a reacquainting with oneself and all that is housed within one's being, asking for our time and compassionate attention. We explore what can support us in cultivating an increasing capacity to lovingly relate to all parts of ourselves and become home for the parts that we've learned to abandon.
I find that learning can come from anywhere if we hold the perspective that can perceive it, and I integrate various tools and modalities, and continue to learn and grow both professionally and personally. Some of the resources I draw from include the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Focusing, psychodynamic, Emotion Focused, Compassion Focused, Transpersonal, eco therapy, and other modalities. I also utilize the mediums of art and movement in addition to talk therapy. In my sessions I value attunement to clients, genuine understanding, exploratory space, identifying what clients most desire for their lives, and building awareness and moving through what gets in the way of what they most desire. I also prioritize holding a trauma-informed and decolonizing lens in my practice.
Awareness of emotional, behavioural, and relational patterns is very important, but that alone does not translate to a felt experience of wellness. That requires bringing the body and the felt sense into the conversation, letting it inform what is present and what is needed so that we can organize ourselves more consciously and help our bodies and nervous systems learn what it is like to feel safe, connected, and aligned.
Sharing this journey with clients is a rich privilege, and a sense of resonance with a therapist really matters. I warmly invite you to reach out to schedule a free 20-minute consultation call to see if it feels like a good fit.
Additional trainings include, but are not limited to:
Each client may request a free initial consultation. This is not a therapy session, but rather a chance to meet and get a feel for how we can connect and work together.
During this consultation, we may discuss the fees and policies as we decide if we are a good fit to work together.
Why do we call our price list an investment instead of a cost? By definition, cost is just an expenditure of money, time, or resources while an investment is an expenditure that is sent out because it has the possibility of a return. We say investment instead of cost because you are not simply expending resources, you are investing in yourself, your health and well-being.
